This post will include removing poop and its odour. We are assuming that there is a lot of poop, and it has been left to sit for some time. If the poop goes down the seat buckle area, like in this photo, it is best to remove the whole seat. Most of the time, we don't know how much poop is under the seat keep in mind assuming isa sign of a bad cleaner).
Quickly, about me: I own a car detailing business that specialises in cleaning human remains and all types of biohazards.
Note: This cleaning method is overkill for vinyl, faux leather, leather, suede or Alcantara. The listed products it is better extracted with a smooth-tipped wet/dry vac. Interior safe (designed) degreaser and warm (but not boiling water).
Note: The Seatbelt is very durable and you can use heavy-duty cleaners that are designed for outdoor furniture. Be aware of your surroundings when cleaning. Seatbelts can warp when exposed to hot water. But in terms of chemical resistance they are solid.
Recommended products (read methods, or you will be going to the hospital or worse)
The first two products are only if the odour is too strong and you want it gone ASAP. The downside is that they add to the expense of the job.
If the odour is too strong Agar (helpful but not necessary) Everfresh (cost + $60.00 for 5 litres)
Gsolve (cost $30 for 500 ml) Gsolve will help remove the Everfresh odour
The following will remove the poop:
Actichem Deozyme (price up to $30 for 500ml)
Agar Amsolve - Food, Protein & blood stain Remover
Either Agar Gsolve or an Interior safe degreaser (example 3D Interior degreaser)
Agar Tannex (neutraliser) note smells like vinegar (cost $10 for 500 ml)
Machinery
I prefer an Ozito wet/dry 20 litre wet/dry vacuum from Bunnings
1 litre Kettle
Methods/Steps
Note: Work small areas at a time. Keep in mind water pools at the back of the chair. Clean the front (and top) most and work your way back. Control the water, do not let it splash, spill or leak (all this can be avoided by working slowly in small sections - always have the wet/dry vacuum on and ready to go). Always extract as much as you can. DO NOT USE A HOSE OR PRESSURE WASHER.
Remove as much of the poop as you can with the wet/dry vacuum. Do not use water, and do not grind in.
If the odour is too strong, lightly spray the Agar Everfresh over the poop areas, let sit for 5 minutes.
Use the wet/dry vacuum to remove anything that might have loosened.
Spray the Gsolve over the area that had the poop. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
Use cold water to extract the areas that are covered by the Gsolve chemical. You can use hot water if you want. Hot water does break down poop better, but it also creates a smell.
I would extract the area two to three separate times. The last time must be with cold water.
Following the dilution ratio, spray Acthem Deozyme over the pooh area (avoid plastics/wipe down any plastics this product comes in contact with). This product is an enzyme digester, which speeds up the odours lifespan. This product will need to sit for 30 minutes.
All enzyme cleaners must be extracted with cold water. Heat reduces the effectiveness of the product. Use cold water and extract three different times.
Now it is time to use the degreaser (Gsolve or other). Follow the application instructions and remove with the extractor. By this stage, the smell should be completely gone.
If you have not already put on a mask, gloves and eyewear. Agar's Amsolve is extremely powerful. Work in a well-ventilated area. This product will put your eyes, rip off your skin and cause breathing difficulties. Follow the dilution instructions and spray Amsolve over the poop spot. Wait between 3 and 5 minutes max, and remove with cold water and your wet/dry vacuum. I would repeat the extraction process twice.
Finally, we will use the Agars Tannex. Follow the instructions and remove with cold water.
Fan or air dry, do not leave the car wet with windows up.
